The Score veröffentlichte Ende April ihre neue Single “Best Part”. Der Song des Indie-Pop-Duos aus Los Angeles handelt davon, dass jeder Mensch Fehler macht. Trotzdem gibt es immer eine Person, die das Gute im Menschen sieht und Liebe schenkt, egal was passiert. So singen sie auch im Refrain: “I can be a liar, I can be a cheat, I can be neurotic, I can be a freak, I can be everything in between, but you always find the best part of me.”

The Score – das sind Eddie Anthony als Sänger und Gitarrist sowie Edan Dover als Keyboarder und Produzent. Bei Live-Auftritten werden die in New York geborenen Vollblutmusiker von Logan Baldwin am Schlagzeug und Chris Coombs an der Gitarre begleitet. Ihr Sound definiert sich durch einen vorwärtstreibenden Genre Mix aus Rock, Pop, Indie und Electronic, bei dem kein Fuß still stehen bleibt. Bekannt wurden sie durch Songs wie “Bulletproof (ft. XYLØ)”, der als End-Credit Song für Michael Bays Netflix-Blockbuster “6 Underground” gewählt wurde.

“Being a human is complicated. We possess amazing qualities, but we also have sides to us that we’re not proud of. We make mistakes. ‘Best Part’ is about how even at our worst moments, the moments where we lie and we cheat and are insecure, there’s someone in our life that sees the very best in us, even when we can’t.”

Eine fünfjährige Reise brachte das Los Angeles-Duo von einer winzigen Wohnung in der Upper East Side zu Goldtafeln, fast drei Milliarden Streams und mehr als einer Million YouTube-Abonnenten auf Shows auf mehreren Kontinenten und eine Fangemeinde von Millionen, die zu jedem Wort mitsingen. Bisher gipfelte die Reise auf dem zweiten Album der Band für Republic Records im Jahr 2020.

“As artists, we’re always striving to get to the next level. There’s an impatient anxiety to do so. After all of this time together, we reached real gratification and a moment of peace this year. However, we keep going. We want to play arenas around the world and reach as many listeners as possible. Touring internationally, we got to meet people in places we’d never been, and it was really eye-opening. We do this out of love, so it’s humbling to get to this point. Growing up, I always heard my favorite artists say, ‘It’s all about the fans’. It couldn’t be truer for us at the end of the day.”
