How is your personality reflected in your work?

My personality is reflected sometimes in my work, because sometimes it’s super happy and not, I guess. Sometimes there are songs that I release that are super dark and gloomy. And I guess that is just the other side. You can’t write happy songs all the time and you can’t write sad songs all the time.

Wie spiegelt sich deine Persönlichkeit in deiner Musik wider?

Meine Persönlichkeit spiegelt sich manchmal in meiner Arbeit wider, indem sie manchmal superglücklich ist und manchmal nicht, denke ich. Manchmal gibt es Lieder, die ich veröffentliche, die superdunkel und düster sind. Und ich schätze, das spiegelt meine andere Seite. Man kann nicht immer nur fröhliche Lieder schreiben, und man kann nicht immer nur traurige Lieder schreiben.

What memorable responses have you had to your work?

I think that when I released „The Doctor Said“ which is the first original song that I released. The mass response to that, which I totally was not expecting was so overwhelming and so comforting. It really blew me away. The kind of comments that people left on the video and stuff. And people still comment to this video to this day with this kind of responses. I am very very grateful.

Welche erinnerungswürdigen Reaktionen hast du auf deine Musik bekommen?

Ich glaube, als ich “The Doctor Said” veröffentlicht habe. Das ist der erste Originalsong, den ich veröffentlicht habe. Die Massenreaktion darauf, mit der ich überhaupt nicht gerechnet hatte, war so überwältigend und so tröstend. Es hat mich wirklich umgehauen. Die Art von Kommentaren, die die Leute bei dem Video hinterlassen haben und so weiter. Und die Leute kommentieren dieses Video bis zum heutigen Tag mit dieser Art von Reaktionen. Ich bin sehr, sehr dankbar.

Tell us the story of how it happened that you sang “Do you believe in magic” for the movie “Camp Magic”.

I worked with a sync company which is like a company who books for music for TV, adverts and films called „WSongs“ for a little while. They’ve been licensing my original songs for a little while, and they made me aware that Disney was looking for music for a new film called „Magic Camp“. They wanted a happy song with the word „magic“ in it. And they said that they showed my other songs to the producers at Disney, and they said that they really loved the vibe of how they are, and they loved to see what I can do with it. My partner Matt and I – we write songs together – we literally turned around a song called „Do You Believe in Magic“ in around two days, we send the whole produced version of the song through. And we were absolutely excited when we found out that they loved it, and they wanted it in the film.

Erzaehl uns die Geschichte wie es zu do you believe in magic füer den film Magic camp gekommen ist.

Ich arbeite seit einer Weile mit einem Synchronisationsunternehmen, das ist eine Firma, die Musik für Fernsehen, Werbung und Filme bucht. Es heißt “WSongs“. Sie lizenzieren seit einiger Zeit meine Originalsongs und machten mich darauf aufmerksam, dass Disney nach Musik für einen neuen Film namens „Magic Camp“ suchte. Sie wollten einen fröhlichen Song mit dem Wort „Magic” darin. Sie sagten, dass sie den Produzenten bei Disney meine anderen Songs gezeigt hätten, und die meinten, dass sie den Vibe, wie er da rüber kommt wirklich lieben. Sie wollten gerne sehen, was ich machen kann. Mein Partner Matt und ich – wir schreiben zusammen Songs. Wir haben einen Song mit dem Titel “Do You Believe in Magic” buchstäblich umgedreht. In etwa zwei Tagen schickten wir die gesamte produzierte Version des Songs rüber. Wir waren absolut begeistert, als wir herausfanden, dass der Song ihnen gefiel und sie ihn in dem Film haben wollten.

 

What is the most useless talent you have?

My most useless talent ever I would say is that I can make a chicken out of a napkin. I will demonstrate here. This is me demonstrating my chicken talents with a t-shirt.

Was ist das nutzloseste talent was du hast?

Mein nutzlosestes Talent, würde ich sagen, ist, dass ich aus einer Serviette ein Huhn machen kann. Ich werde es hier demonstrieren. Hier demonstriere ich meine Hühner-Talente mit einem T-Shirt.

Are you already planning your next project? Can you tell us about it?

My next project is the new song I’m releasing at the 9th October. And it’s a song called „Jail Time“. I’m really excited about it and I hope you go ahead and listen to it on the 9th of October.

Mein nächstes Projekt ist der neue Song, den ich am 9. Oktober veröffentlichen werde. Es ist ein Lied namens “Jail Time”. Ich bin sehr gespannt darauf und hoffe, dass ihr euch ihn am 9. Oktober anhört.
